School Field Trips

The Orlando Museum of Art presents FREE cross-curricular field trips to engage students using authentic works of art ranging from original picture book illustrations, to contemporary and traditional works of art! BOOK NOW! Confirmation of booking is needed first in order to secure transportation.

Zen Tales: The Art of Jon J. Muth
August 27 - October 26, 2018

Build on literacy by making connections between art and books! This exhibition features original art from the 2006 Caldecott honoree Jon J. Muth. The pieces in this exhibition have been grouped into three sections: Tales from around the World, Poems to Learn by Heart (includes two of the books he collaborated with Caroline Kennedy), and Adventures of Stillwater and Koo (includes all the Zen books). Accommodates 3 classes. Recommended for grades K-12.

Nick Cave: Feat.
September 24 - December 29, 2018

Nick Cave’s work is a seamless combination of sculpture, dance and fashion, reflecting his experience as a trained visual artist. Cave is best known for his elaborate “soundsuits,” human-shaped, wearable sculptural forms composed of a wide variety of repurposed commonplace materials. Accommodates 3 classes. Recommended for grades K-12

Louis Dewis: A Belgian Post-Impressionist
January 25 - April 21, 2019

Inspired by such French masters of landscape painting as Corot, Cézanne and Gauguin, Louis Dewis painted scenes of cities, villages and countryside throughout Belgium and France. This exhibition will present important periods of the artist’s career following World War I. Accommodates 3 classes. Recommended for grades 1-12

Dig and Discover: Investigating Art of the Ancient Americas
Ongoing through May 2019

Students explore ancient cultures of North, Central and South America through beautiful objects in the Art of the Ancient Americas collection, and learn how archaeology helps us learn about the past. Accommodates 2 classes. Recommended for grades 1-5.

Standards: Visual Arts, Social Studies and Science.


The Inquiring Eye: Scrutinizing American Art
Ongoing through May 2019

Using critical response, students identify, interpret, and assess visual imagery in paintings and sculpture in the context of American history and culture. Accommodates 3 classes. Recommended for grades 1-12.

Standards: Visual Arts, Social Studies and Language Arts.
