Explore traditional and contemporary works of art in the Orlando Museum of Art’s collections to discover the stories behind the images. Find out what art can tell us in sometimes unexpected ways!

ENDURING BEAUTY: SEMINOLE ART AND CULTURE

Explore Florida history in the form of traditional clothing, articles of personal adornment, and domestic crafts by the Seminole people, from the early 19th century to the mid- 20th century. Examples of distinctive Seminole patchwork and appliqué, dolls, sashes, and basketry are complemented by historical paintings, prints and photographs that document Seminole life over two centuries.

DETAILS

  • For students entering grades K-12
  • 75 student capacity for each tour time
  • $6 per student; no charge for limited number of chaperones
  • Registration is required with a deposit or credit card number
  • Bring blankets for a picnic lunch in Loch Haven Park—a great open space for games!
