POETICS OF PLACE
For centuries, artists and poets have referenced the idea of place within their work. Visual and written representations of this theme range from panoramic, majestic mountain landscapes to lush, vibrant Florida settings. There are both observed, physical places, as well as simulated, imagined ones—those that can’t actually BE. In this lecture series presented by Susan Rosoff, we will explore historical, spiritual, and emotional dimensions of place to understand what makes this such an enduring theme.
