Family workshops at the Orlando Museum of Art are shared art experiences for children and their families. Activities are inspired by exhibitions at the Museum, and each workshop is led by certified art educator and/or practicing artist. In this creative hands-on setting, families will learn about art together in a fun way!
Theme: Cosmic Cyanotype Tiles
Bring the whole family together and design a cosmic tile that is out of this
world! Explore artists who feature tile work in their artwork, such as Ala Ebtekar and Lalla Essaydi. Ebtekar specifically uses images of the cosmos from the Hubble telescope to create his dazzling tile installation, Luminous Ground. Learn how to make a cyanotype (photographic print) on a ceramic tile and create a dazzling design that reflects the night sky, moon, stars, and galaxy!
