SPRING ART CAMP 2023: The Elements of Art

This spring break come be in your element at OMA! Each day explore one or more of the seven elements of art: line, shape, color, form, space, texture, and value. Create two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art using a variety of media! For students in grades 1-5.

Bring a lunch, a drink and a towel for a picnic. Please wear closed toe shoes and dress for mess!

MONDAY, MARCH 13
Spring Fling
Spring has sprung! Paint a terracotta pot to fill with soil and plant flower seeds. Use a popsicle stick to design a garden marker to place in your pot. Create paper flowers and a mini garden to celebrate the start of spring!

TUESDAY, MARCH 14
The Art of the Game

Spend the day playing and creating games! Make your own bowling pins and Bingo cards and chips using paper, bottle caps, and other embellishments. Play fan-favorite games such as, Statues in the Museum and Pictionary!

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15
ARTmazing Animals

Help turn the art studio into a zoo by creating animal themed works of art! Design a bird mask using feathers, yarn, and popsicle sticks. Create animal puppets and air dry clay figurines for a special performance!

THURSDAY, MARCH 16
Sail Away

Steady the helm, adjust the jib, and prepare to sail through the museum! Explore works of art that depict the sea and be inspired to create your own. Make two to three sailboats using different materials such as, paint, paper, fabric, shoeboxes, and more!

FRIDAY, MARCH 17
Going Green

Calling all leprechauns! Go green this St. Patrick’s Day by creating environmentally friendly artwork inspired by the Irish holiday. Use recycled materials to make a rainbow streamer, a shamrock collage, and a lucky charm keychain. All artwork created is sure to be worthy enough to sit at the end of a rainbow!

Registration:
Registration is required one week prior to the first session. Once you submit a registration, an email confirmation will be sent to verify your child's enrollment. If you do not receive a confirmation within two weeks of registration, please contact the Education Office at (407) 896-4231 ext. 262 or email education@omart.org.

Extended Day:
Early drop off (beginning at 8:00am): $5 per child, per day; $25 for the entire week
Late pick up (until 5:15pm): $5 per child, per day; $25 for the entire week. An additional $1 per minute charge will be incurred for pick up later than 5:15pm.

Refunds:
All refund requests must be made in writing. A full refund, less a $25 handling fee, will be made if written notice is received two weeks prior to the first day of class. No refund exceptions will be made within the two weeks before the first day of the session. No refunds are available for unused days of a session.

Changes to Registration:
Changes to a registration incur a $25 handling fee and is based on class availability.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and create in a structured group environment promoting personal expression in safe, creative spaces. Our education department will continue to follow recommendations from the CDC, local government authorities and the American Camp Association.

Here are a few of this year's added safety precautions:

  • Curbside drop-off and pickup so that parents do not have to enter the building.
  • Enhanced deep-cleaning regimen of touchable surfaces by OMA staff ina ddition to contracted cleaning service.
  • Learning spaces will alternate between the clean comfort of our education studios, 19,000 square feet of gallery space, and the Loch Haven Park sunshine.
