The Education Department is seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking to gain experience with educational programs in the visual arts. Although the internship will touch upon a variety of programs, the focus is Orlando Museum of Art’s ten-week offering of summer studio classes for elementary and middle school students. The Education Intern will help facilitate the program, including assisting with sign in and sign out duties, daily organizational activities, and writing information sheets that connect authentic works of art in OMA’s collection to the materials, techniques, and processes that students experience in the studio.
Interested candidates must have (or be in the process of completing) a college-level education and have a background in art history or studio, as well as well-developed writing skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is helpful. A professional temperament and an ability to relate with people of diverse backgrounds is a must. Applicants should demonstrate proven communication and organizational skills and have an ability to multitask.
