Hours:
To be determined by Intern’s school schedule and Education Department needs. Work hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules but occasional evening or weekend work may be required for some programs. 

Salary:
Academic credit in lieu of compensation

Reports To:
 Curator of Education and Associate Curator of Education & Outreach

General Description:
The Education Department is seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking to gain experience with educational programs in the visual arts.  The internship will touch upon a variety of programs and aspects within the Museum—including youth and adult studio workshops, lectures, and research for programs involving upcoming exhibitions.  Specific tasks will include: researching and updating educational resources on the Museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions; assisting in the preparation of materials for educational and studio programs; developing tour strategies for diverse audiences; organizing and tracking evaluations of community access programs; collection of program assessment data including interviews and quantitative metrics; and assisting with various support functions as specified by the Curator of Education. 

Requirements:
Candidates must have (or be in the process of completing) a college-level education and have a background in art history or studio art. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. A professional temperament and an ability to relate with people of diverse backgrounds are essential. Candidates must have excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.  Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and will be required to use their own laptop for the duration of this internship.
