Seeking Interns for the 2019 Fall Term

Must be available for the following time slots and at least two days a week:

10:00am-1:00pm or 1:00-4:00pm

Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations Manager + Graphic Designer

15-20 hours - opportunities are available for night time events as well

General Description:
Provide support to OMA’s Marketing Department in order to meet the Museum’s goals and objectives. The Graphic Design Intern will assist in all areas of graphic design and provide support in email marketing and website maintenance.

Specific Tasks:

  • Assist with the design of marketing collateral which can include, but is not limited to: invitations, envelopes, posters, promo cards, postcards, greeting cards, banners, ads, newsletters, calendars, brochures, and any other marketing materials as assigned by the Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations Manager + Graphic Designer
  • Gather information needed for our monthly eNewsletter and assist in the design and distribution of the email marketing in MailChimp
  • Update website with all of the most recent events and assist in keeping all of our online information up to date
  • Event photography
  • Other duties as assigned

Interested candidates must have an interest or background in graphic design. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills while exhibiting a high attention to detail. Additionally, candidates must have the ability to take initiative, work independently and work in a deadline sensitive environment. Moreover, candidates must be able to take constructive criticism well and remain flexible when their designs need editing.

Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft applications: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as the Adobe Creative Suite Design applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and InDesign. Applicants MUST have their own laptop with these applications, or they will not be considered; the Marketing Department will not provide the necessary hardware or software.

Pursuit of a college degree in graphic design is a plus! This is a valuable opportunity to strengthen resumes/portfolios with Orlando’s namesake museum and to learn how to be a graphic designer in a professional, and often fast-paced, environment.
