Discover the art of slowing down.
In our busy lives, we rarely spend more than a few moments with a work of art. The Art of Pause series invites you to do the opposite. Through mindful observation, guided conversation, drawing, and reflective journaling, participants will explore a single artwork each session while cultivating curiosity, creativity, and presence.
Schedule
Selected Tuesdays, 10:00-11:00am
Pricing:
The Art of Pause is a welcoming series designed for adults who want to experience art in a more intentional way. Rather than moving quickly through the galleries, participants will spend time deeply engaging with a single work of art through guided slow looking, thoughtful discussion, drawing, and personal journaling. Inspired by the principles of mindfulness, each session encourages participants to slow down, notice more, and develop a deeper connection with both the artwork and with themselves.
No artistic experience is necessary. Only curiosity and a willingness to pause.
Who It’s For:
What Happens During a Typical Session:
Each one-hour session begins with guided slow looking of a single artwork from one of the museum’s exhibitions. Participants are invited to carefully observe, reflect, and discuss what they notice before transitioning into quiet drawing and journaling inspired by the artwork and the experience. The focus is not on artistic skill, but on observation, personal reflection, and mindfulengagement.
