Hours: 40 hours per week (evenings and weekends required)

Position Summary
The Operations Lead assists in overseeing the daily operations and physical upkeep of the Museum’s facilities. This includes supervising janitorial services, coordinating team schedules, supporting event setups, responding to building needs, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This position requires hands-on involvement with both administrative coordination and physical facility support.
Key Responsibilities
Team & Schedule Coordination
- Coordinate and manage the master schedule of all Operations Team members, aligning with facility rentals and Museum events; submit schedule to HR/Payroll.
- Lead day-to-day task delegation and provide guidance to the Operations team.
- Assist the Chief of Operations in supervising janitorial services and evaluating custodial quality through daily control sheets.
Facility Operations & Security
- Open and close the Museum in a timely and secure manner.
- Help maintain a safe and secure environment for all occupants and visitors.
- Monitor building systems for proper temperature and humidity; report issues promptly.
- Respond to alarms and assist with emergency procedures as needed.
Event & Space Support
- Set up and take down chairs, tables, pedestals, and A/V equipment for events, receptions, and programs.
- Operate and maintain audio-visual systems (projectors, microphones, sound systems).
- Ensure spaces are cleaned and reset after events or daily use.
- Support staff and volunteers during special events and facility rentals.
Maintenance & Cleaning
- Perform minor building repairs (e.g., light bulb replacement, painting, basic plumbing) with appropriate approvals.
- Complete special cleaning projects such as carpet cleaning, pressure washing, and window washing.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all interior and exterior areas, including the sculpture garden, loading dock, and kitchen areas.
- Maintain up-to-date inventories of equipment, supplies, and hazardous materials in coordination with relevant departments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team and coordinating schedules in a facilities or operations environment.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Ability to supervise custodial staff and uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
- Experience using and maintaining audio-visual equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
- Comfortable lifting/moving equipment and furniture (up to 50 lbs).
- Availability to work evenings and weekends is required.
- Dependable, punctual, and proactive.
