Come on an adventure at OMA! Join us for a workshop that features a hands-on art activity in the studio followed by a visit to the gallery. Explore materials and techniques in a stimulating and inviting environment that fosters engagement and creativity for young children and their favorite grown-ups! Ideal for children ages 2-10.

Friday, August 23: Let's Go Fly A Kite!
Decorate a paper kite in the style of Florida Prize artist, Hai Van! View Van’s piece Skin of A Tiger and be inspired to create similar designs and patterns on your own kite. Venture outside to the OMA Sculpture Plaza and see your kite take to the skies!
Friday, September 6: Little Golden Book Adventures
Celebrate the opening of the exhibition, Golden Legacy: Original Art from 80 Years of Golden Books! Listen as an educator reads a Little Golden Books classic, The Color Kittens, written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen. In the studio, design your little own golden book using gold tape, paint, markers, and more!
Friday, October 4: Fabulous Fall Wreaths
Learn about the different seasons by reading I Am A Bunny, written by Ole Risom and illustrated by Richard Scarry. View original illustrations from the book in the exhibition, Golden Legacy: Original Art from 80 Years of Golden Books. In the studio, everyone in your pARTy will lend a “hand” to create fall leaves to turn into a fabulous fall wreath!
Friday, November 1: Art that Rocks!
Spend the morning painting rocks! First, read the book The Secret Garden written by Frances Gilbert and illustrated by Brigette Barrager. Be inspired to paint colorful rocks to place in your own secret garden! Design “golden rocks” and “punk rocks” inspired by the museum’s picture book show, Golden Legacy: Original Art from 80 Years of Golden Books, and the punk rock exhibition, Torn Apart: Punk + New Wave Graphics, Fashion and Culture.
Friday, December 6: Lighted Holiday Shadow Box
Light up your world this holiday season by creating a decorative shadow box with fairy lights! Design a cozy holiday scene using cotton balls, festive ribbons, assorted papers, sequins, jewels, and more.

REFUND POLICY
Full refunds will be provided if a class does not meet minimum enrollment and is canceled. A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be provided for cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the first day of the class. No refunds, no exceptions, will be made if the cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to a class. Refund requests must be made in writing and should be emailed to education@omart.org.
