October 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Robert Rauschenberg, a pioneering force in 20th-century art whose radical experimentation reshaped the boundaries of painting and redefined the possibilities of printmaking. In celebration of the artist’s centennial, the Orlando Museum of Art presents four works from its permanent collection, including a commission acquired through the OMA’s Acquisition Trust, and two purchases made from the Council of 101 to enhance its Contemporary American Graphics collection. These selections reflect Rauschenberg’s restless innovation and raw energy, expressed through his distinctive collage-like compositions and groundbreaking use of print media. Together, they honor a legacy that continues to challenge, provoke, and inspire—one hundred years after his birth.
