Friends of American Art

Founded in 1993, the purpose of Friends of American Art is to provide a program for Members of the Orlando Museum of Art to fund the purchase of exceptional American art from the 18th Century through the early 20th Century for the Permanent Collection.

The connoisseurship and generosity of Friends of American Art will enable OMA to purchase exceptional art when it becomes available. The increasing size, diversity and excellence of the Permanent Collection will be an enduring tribute to the individuals who ensure the success of this program through their participation.

Art considered for purchase by Friends of American Art will be pre-selected and approved by the Curatorial staff and approved by the Collections & Exhibitions Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Individuals or couples can participate in Friends of American Art at six levels – Peale, Sargent, Moran, Benton, Hassam, O’Keeffe or two young professional levels, Wyeth and Pollack.  Members will be notified annually of their membership status.
