It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…ART! Create artwork inspired by people who you consider to be a superhero. Use clothespins, fabric, and assorted embellishments to create a superhero figurine. Turn yourself into a superhero by creating a mixed media painting using paints and textiles.
1-4 p.m. Out of this World!
Reach for the stars by creating works of art that are out of this world! Learn about the Milky Way and the fascinating things that make up our galaxy. Design cosmic creations such as a spaceship, planet, and astronaut by painting, drawing, assembling, and more.

9 a.m.-noon Drawing Through Time: Comics & Anime
Learn about the evolution of comic and anime drawing! Travel back in time to Japan and discover how ancient Japanese scrolls connect to today’s comics (also referred to as “manga”) and anime (animation). Be inspired by past and present-day comic and anime artists, as you create your own storyboards and characters.
1-4 p.m. Pop Art Party!
From the prints of Campbell’s soup cans by artist Andy Warhol to Op-Art designs in collage, explore art forms that exemplify the excitement of the 1960s, one of the most exciting times in American art.

9 a.m.-noon Art Around the World
Explore the world in a week through its diverse art forms! Travel across continents and be inspired by different cultures to create unique art as you imaginatively visit places such as France, Italy, and Mexico. Learn about new places, spaces, and faces!
1-4 p.m. It’s All About ME!
Explore a variety of art forms and mediums as you create art with YOU as the subject! Celebrate your interests, your favorite things, your family and more, in two- and three-dimensional masterpieces that are as unique as you are.

9 a.m.-noon Express Yourself

Discover how to express yourself through art! Celebrate your interests, your favorite things, your family and more, by creating two- and three-dimensional masterpieces that are as unique as you are.
1-4 p.m. Super Surreal Creations
Ever picture a clock melting in a desert? How about a teacup made of fur? These are examples of the dreamlike artwork known as Surrealism! Tap into your imagination and see what silly or surprising surreal works of art you can create. Experiment with playful shapes, unexpected combinations, and bold colors. Be inspired by famous surrealists like Salvador Dalí, Méret Oppenheim, and René Magritte.
JUNE 22-26
9 a.m.-noon Fiber Fun
Experiment with thread, fabric, foam stuffing, and other fiber materials to learn sewing, weaving, and three-dimensional textile construction. Design and create a variety of creatures, weavings, and soft sculptural forms.
1-4 p.m. pARTy Animals
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! What other animals are in the galleries? Let your imagination “run wild” as you create a colorful Mexican folk art sculpture of an imaginary animal, known as an “alebrije.” Spend the week designing a wonderful menagerie of creatures, both two- and three-dimensional.
JUNE 29-JULY 2* (no class JULY 3)
9 a.m.-noon Crazed for Clay
Create functional three-dimensional art like vessels, sculpture, and more, using pinch, coil, model, and slab methods. Learn to burnish and glaze finished pieces, which will be kiln fired. Some pieces will be glazed and fired for pickup at a later date.
1-4 p.m. Red, White, Blue, and YOU!
As this week leads up to the Fourth of July, we look to American symbols and history to create works of art that celebrate the red, white, blue, and YOU! From traditional landscapes paintings to POP Art, learn all about the artwork that put America on the map.
JULY 6-10
9 a.m.-noon Wild Florida
Explore the flora and fauna of Florida! Paint, draw, and sculpt artwork inspired by the plants and animals of our great State. Landscapes created by the Florida Highwaymen will be the highlight of our journey through Florida!
1-4 p.m. Under the Sea
Discover the world under the sea! Paint with watercolor, create a tropical fish collage, and design an underwater sea creature using recyclable materials. Come set sail and “sea” where your artistic talents take you!
JULY 13-17
9 a.m.-noon Mixed Media Madness
Explore how to mix a variety of mediums together to create an assortment of artwork! Paint, print, draw, collage, and sculpt to design two- and three-dimensional works of art that combine a multitude of media.
1-4 p.m. An Artist A Day
Learn new techniques as you create in the style of a different famous artist each day! Explore printmaking à la Andy Warhol, paper cutouts in the style of Henri Matisse, landscape painting inspired by Vincent van Gogh, and more.
JULY 20-24
9 a.m.-noon Painting Pizzazz
Discover new ways of painting, how to apply color, and how different surfaces can affect a painting. Create works using the methods of watercolor resist and mono printing using found textures. Learn how to create mood with color, while also incorporate other media like pastel, marker, and collage, into a work of art.
1-4 p.m. Fibers and Fabrics
Let your creativity flow using fibers and fabrics! Learn about artists who tell stories through their artwork by using assorted fibers like Bisa Butler and Faith Ringgold. Discover how to patch together materials to create fantastic works of art!
JULY 27-31
9 a.m.-noon Sculptural Sensations
Explore the world of sculpture! Create a variety of sculptures using out of the box materials such as soap, cardboard, wire, and more. Be inspired by sculptural works at OMA, such as jack #3 and jack #4 by Mel Kendrick, as well as Cobalt and Citron Tower by Dale Chihuly.
1-4 p.m. Drawing FUN-damentals
Learn basic drawing skills as you work in graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, ink, and marker. Explore contour drawing, shading, the use of perspective, and how to draw a self-portrait.
AUGUST 3-7
9 a.m.-noon Crazy About Color
Discover the power of hue as you draw, paint, and print using basic color theory. Learn to mix tints and shades, as well as how to combine complementary colors to create works of art that pack a punch!
1-4 p.m. Linoleum Block Printing
Explore the possibilities of basic linoleum block printing as you carve and print to create images in black and white, color, and various shapes and sizes.
