Position:Summer Art Camp Assistant – Contract

General Description: Manages the volunteers and supplies for Summer Art Camp 2026 and helps maintain the studio classrooms. The Summer Art Camp Assistant is responsible for reviewing all the lesson plans and gathering the appropriate materials and supplies, preparing the studios for classes,helping clean and put away materials and supplies, maintaining organization of the supply closet and studio classrooms. Summer Art Camp is the Orlando Museum of Art’s annual eleven-week program ofstudio classes for elementary through high school students.
Specific Tasks:
1. Review all lesson plans and pull all the needed materials and supplies for each class.
2. Communicate with staff/teachers for clarification and concerns.
3. Help manage the volunteers and coordinate studio assignments.
4. Maintain order and neatness in the supply closet and studio classrooms.
5. At the end of each camp, help clean and put the supplies back in their proper place.
6. Help take/maintain inventory of supplies.
7. Serve as a Studio Assistant as needed to assist teachers.
8. Assist with other Summer Art Camp duties as requested by the Curator of Education.
Specific Skills and Abilities:
• This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Must love to make things neat and tidy, and not be afraid of getting your hands dirty.
• Must take pride in keeping studio spaces clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Must be able to commit to a flexible schedule with a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 36hours a week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
• Must have experience with and knowledge of art supplies and be able to read teacher lesson plans.
• Must be energetic, flexible, and professional.
• Must enjoy working with children of all ages.
• Must possess a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Academic and Business Requirements:
Interested candidates must have (or be in the process of completing) a college-level education and have a background in studio art, art education, or art history.
