Acquisition Trust
Celebrating Thirty Years of Building a Collection
Soundsuit
For the last three decades, members of the Acquisition Trust have provided funds to build the Orlando Museum of Art’s permanent collection of American art. To commemorate this legacy, the Museum presents an exhibition of 45 paintings, sculptures and works on paper that have entered the collection with the Acquisition Trust’s support. Featured in this exhibition are the newly installed jack #3 and jack #4 by sculptor Mel Kendrick.
These two works are Acquisition Trust’s recent acquisition and contribution to the celebration of the Museum’s 90th Anniversary. The Acquisition Trust was formed in 1984 and has been a driving force in the growth of the Museum’s Contemporary Art Collection. Additionally, the active participation of the membership has provided an opportunity for individuals to make a meaningful contribution to the Museum’s collection and leave a legacy for generations to come.
