Join Florida Prize 2026 artist Maria Theresa Barbist for a free interactive workshop exploring identity, belonging, and the body as a compass through art, movement, and creative writing.
Inspired by Barbist’s large-scale painted works currently on view in the Florida Prize 2026 exhibition at the Orlando Museum of Art, participants will engage in guided drawing, movement, and reflective writing exercises that encourage personal storytelling and creative expression. Together, you’ll explore the idea of “home” as both a physical place and an emotional experience while discovering new ways to connect with yourself and others through art.
This free workshop is open to adults, teens, and anyone interested in contemporary art, creative movement, and hands-on art experiences. No prior artistic experience is required.
